Event Guidelines

Concept “Rules” and Guidelines:

Restrict project to between 1-2 hours whenever possible.  Preferred time seems to be 1-3pm on the fourth Sunday of each month.

The family in charge of each project is responsible for the set up, clean up, ideas, materials, etc. for their project. Member families should be able to show up, complete the project at hand and get back out the door.

Snacks/drinks should NOT be provided during events — it’s one more thing to clean up and is distracting for the kids.  Everyone asks this and I know the first response is to serve food, but PLEASE don’t.  The events should be about the event, not who throws the best party!

Costs — each family is responsible for the cost of their Favor project. Families should not be asked to donate money or items to a project.  “Take home” projects (collecting, buying, cooking, etc.) should be kept to a minimum. That said, there is nothing to stop the Family in charge from soliciting items from people outside the group — eg: if you do a book drive — you can collect from anyone interested in giving, then have the group do bookmarks or any other related activity to the gift.

RSVP’s — although we very much want this group to be casual in that there should not be any pressure to show up at every event, RSVP’s ARE important so that the favor family in charge can plan accordingly for materials, with the non-profit we are going to, etc.  RSVP means a YES or NO so we know for sure what your status is.  Please give as much notice as possible to the family in charge!

Each Favors family is responsible for one event. When it is your event, you will email the group and check RSVP’s, explain the project, invite, set up with non-profit group, etc.

If you’d like to invite another family to join the group, please just forward me their contact info and tell them about it! Anyone who wants to participate is welcome.

Favors above all should be FUN – if the time or commitment is already stressing you out, take your name off the list and get rid of the guilt!
